  • Mood disorder treatment (primarily depression and anxiety)
  • Relationship challenges: Including boundary-setting, improving communication, healing from past negative experiences, and navigating family relationships with/as adult children. 
  • Life transitions: Processing and coping through significant changes in life such as a change in career, graduation, marriage or break-ups, parenthood, etc. 
  • Emerging Adults: Extensive experience workign with clients in the transitional phase including copng through college adjustment, stress management, identify exploration, career uncertainty, and the post-graduation process. 

Approach

Aly's approach emphasizes insight-building to help clients understand their emotions, strengths, and areas of growth. From her perspective, the better we can understand ourselves, the better we can learn how to care for ourselves! As needed, she draws on evidence-based techniques from Dialectical Behavioral Therapy to build up clients' emotion regulation toolkit and establish realistic self-care practices. 

Clinical Experience

  • Individual counseling/psychotherapy experience working with adults and adolescents (ages 13-70) in outpatient, intensive outpatient, and partial hospitalization settings throughout Florida
  • Group facilitatior leading skills class for clients learning evidence-based coping strategies. Previous group populations include college students, adolescents, and military/law enforcement. 

Credentials/Specialized Training

  • Licensed Mental Health Therapist (LMHC) in the state of Florida
  • Intensively trained in foundations of Dialectical Behavior Therapy (2021)
  • Certified training in Cognitive Processing Therapy (2021)
